Privacy Policy

Pastor's Sermon Pro ("the app") is desktop software by Michael Howard. Pastor's Sermon Pro Sync ("Sync") is an optional paid service that keeps your app data the same across your computers and includes Pastor's Sermon Pro Online, a version you use in a web browser. This policy explains what information is involved and how it's handled.

Your work stays yours

The app stores your sermons, notes, calendar, Day Planner, prayer requests, bulletins, library and settings on your own computer, in the Documents/PSP folder. If you don't use Sync, none of it is sent to us.

Sync is end-to-end encrypted

  • Before anything is uploaded, the app encrypts it on your computer with a key derived from your password. File names are encrypted too.
  • Your password and encryption keys never leave your computer (or your browser, when you use Pastor's Sermon Pro Online or the website's sign-up and account pages). The server receives only a separate sign-in key, which it stores as a one-way hash.
  • As a result, we cannot read your synced data, and we cannot recover it if you lose both your password and your recovery key.

What the Sync server does store

  • Your email address, used to sign in and to identify your subscription.
  • Your encrypted data and its size, version numbers and change times.
  • A list of the computers (and browsers) signed in to your account, with the names they report and when they were last seen, so you can sign one out.
  • Your plan status: trial dates, and the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers that link your account to your subscription.
  • Basic server logs (request type, time and result) used to keep the service running. These don't contain your data.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach Pastor's Sermon Pro or the Sync server. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Stripe sends us notices about your subscription (for example, that it started, renewed, failed or was cancelled) so Sync can turn on or pause accordingly.

Calendar connections and AI

If you connect an online calendar (such as Google or Apple) or use an online AI provider with your own API key, the app talks to that service directly from your computer under that service's terms. Local AI runs entirely on your computer.

How long data is kept

  • While your account is active, your encrypted data is kept so it can sync.
  • If your trial or subscription ends, sync pauses and your encrypted copy is kept for 90 days in case you return, then deleted from the server. Your computers keep their copies.
  • You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.

Sharing

We don't sell your information or use it for advertising. It's shared only with Stripe for payments, with the hosting needed to run the service, or where required by law.
